Innocent Princess Hussa Bint Salman victimised in political machinations

Princess Hussa, daughter of King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and sister of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, is a person of outstanding integrity, humility and simplicity. The princess, who is her father’s favourite and only daughter, engages in many cultural and humanitarian activities through which she has shown her willingness and ability to serve her country and people without the need to flaunt her titles or take up official posts or positions

Princess Hussa holds a Master of Arts degree in Diplomatic Studies from the University of Wesminster and a Master of Arts in Human Rights from the School of Oriental & African Studies of the University of London (SOAS)

Princess Hussa also loves France and the French people and, as a frequent visitor to Paris since her childhood, she considered herself to be in her second country. But she now finds herself the subject of a malicious prosecution in the corridors of the French judiciary. It began when Ashraf Eid, a French plumber of Egyptian origin (not an engineer as claimed in some media reports), arrived to fix a problem in the Princess’ house. Around twenty people, including friends and staff, were in the house to witness what happened next. Suddenly the Princess saw Eid surreptitiously photographing her. She shouted at the top of her voice and Rani Saidi, the head of the French security company responsible for her protection, came right away

Mr Saidi, who is French of Lebanese origin, and whose company has been in charge of the Princess’ personal security for many years, asked Mr Eid to hand over his phone. Mr Eid began cursing and insulting him in Egyptian dialect, refusing to hand over the phone. Mr Saidi then grabbed the phone out of his hands to check it and found a series of photos and videos of the Princess and not of the place he had come to fix as the plumber had claimed. He then asked Mr Eid to accompany him to the security office where he deleted all the pictures and videos from his mobile and took a picture of his ID card was taken for security measures. Given the Princess’ status, he was also asked if any third party had paid him to take the pictures, but he said he had been acting alone

Mr Eid then left the premises only to return shortly after to retrieve his toolbox. He then went straight to the police station and filed a complaint against the Princess and her bodyguard. A lawsuit followed with great speed. The judge of instruction asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs whether the princess had diplomatic immunity, and having been “incorrectly” informed that she did not, granted permission to the police to carry out a raid on her house and detain her. The extreme nature of what happened next suggested a hidden agenda behind the prosecution of the case

Dozens of French police officers came in terrifying processions as if they were carrying out a raid on a terrorist group. Fortunately officials from the Saudi Embassy in Paris arrived to stop this outrageous behaviour, and as it was clear that a conspiracy was underway, the Princess and her friends were immediately flown by private plane to Saudi Arabia. When the judge learned what had happened, she ordered the arrest of the Mr Saidi, who was unjustly jailed for almost three months, which usually happens in non democratic countries

In France, the investigating judge has extraordinary powers. She issued an arrest warrant in December of 2017, which remained under wraps until 15 March 2018, days after Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman signed investment agreements with the UK worth 90 billion dollars, which is around the same amount the EU had requested the U.K. to pay as a “Brexit Bill”, and around three weeks before his arrival in Paris on an official visit. The agreement represented a painful blow for France, which has been hawkish in its attitude to the UK as it exits the European Union. A few days later, the French authorities made the judicial decision public, a clear political message ahead of the Crown Prince’s arrival in Paris

inn.news can exclusively reveal that HRH Princess Hussa remains in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will not personally appear before the court, especially since the French have circulated an International arrest warrant for her. Rumours that she is under house arrest are untrue. She continues to play her societal and cultural role in her country and continues with her normal life in her family, enjoying the special esteem of her father the King and her brother the Crown Prince

The most salient question remains how a judiciary like that of France, whose status is internationally respected, can insult the dignity of an innocent person, dragging her through investigations and prosecutions and distorting her reputation in the media based on no credible evidence. Indeed, twenty witnesses flatly contradict the claims of the individual who made the allegations. So what is the real agenda behind this malicious prosecution
